From Our Website

Anna's Bananas Daycare & Preschool was established in November of 1999, by David and Anna Achtenberg, the parents of four beautiful children: Ashlee, Vincent, and twins Braxton & Beau. David and Anna wanted to make a difference in the childcare world by offering a unique kind of quality care. David and Anna wanted to create not only a safe, learning and loving environment, but they also wanted to make true friendships and relationships with each family that entrusted them with their children. They knew this trust was imperative to truly provide the best care possible.

Our before and after school school-age program focuses on supporting your child's education. We provide a homework area to help make your child's studies easier, and we encourage teamwork and problem solving throughout the classroom. The school-age classroom is very spacious including a homework room for independent or group study and a separate cubby and coatroom for each child to organize their personal belongings. Our "family team", made of highly educated and qualified teachers, is certified in CPR, and First Aide training.

Schools we transport to are subject to change each school year and not all schools listed may be transported to on a reoccurring basis, please inquire with the facilities center director for more information. The school district Bus Companies provide transportation to and from select schools in the Apple Valley, Farmington, Lakeville, and Northfield school districts. Please contact your local school district to find out if their busses will transport to and from Anna's Bananas Daycare & Preschool.

Our preschool program focuses on school readiness with a structured weekly curriculum that teaches art, science, math, writing and social skills. Our "family team" helps to strengthen each child's decision making and self help skills in a safe supportive classroom environment. The preschool classroom is set up to allow preschoolers to involve themselves in independent decision making in their classroom. The children can explore dramatic play, literary activities, discovery science projects and a quiet reading area.

Anna's Bananas Daycare & Preschool is known for its out of this world summer camp programs! Each year Anna's Bananas Daycare & Preschool "family team" plans the summer camp programs in great detail. Summer Camp Programs are offered at select locations only. Please inquire with one of our center directors for more information on locations and availability. From water parks to indoor rock climbing, the summer campers get a summer packed with field trips and fun! Our summer camp programs promote teamwork, fellowship, creativity, leadership, sportsmanship and achievement all summer long.

Anna's Bananas Daycare and Preschool is proud to employ a full-time Registered Nurse-Mrs. Ciera Bayerl. The purpose of an in-house RN is to be available to the staff, children and families to provide support in the health and wellness of the kids within our facilities. The state licensing requirement is only that a contracted health nurse is required to make monthly visits to ensure compliance in policies and procedures related to health and safety policies. Anna's Bananas Daycare and Preschool is unique from many of our competitors as Mrs. Bayerl visits each center multiple times per week and regulates key areas such as sanitation and medication administration as well as that of safety and health policies.

Our infant program focuses on each infant's growth and development by including daily activities for physical, cognitive, social and emotional development. Our "family team" of teachers encourages the infants to develop their motor, language and social skills each day! The infants' classroom is set up in a "home-like" environment. It provides a private kitchen, large playroom, diaper changing room and separate sleeping rooms for a "home-like nursery" feel. Our "family team", made of highly educated and qualified teachers, is certified in CPR, First Aide, Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) and Abusive Head Trauma (AHT).

Our toddler program is designed around the understanding that at the age of 16-18 months, each toddler is now developing new ways to express their need to interact with parents, friends and teachers. Toddlers are encouraged to make independent choices, develop self-help skills and begin to solve problems. Using words is not always easy, so incorporating sign language in the classroom gives each child a voice. The toddler's classroom is set up in a "home-like" environment. It provides a spacious classroom, private kitchen, cubby and coat areas, toddler play land and separate restroom for potty training ease.
