I want to thank you and all your staff for the patience you had with Bryan and Kyle. I also was very impressed with how very happy and kind your staff was every day when we dropped and/or picked Bryan and Kyle. They loved coming to camp each day. I hope you have a successful 2018-2019 school year and we hope to come back next year. I couldn't have asked for a better place to start my daughter's schooling and social development. I have seen my daughter grow in ways I could never have imagined and I will be forever thankful to you.
Our highly academic Full Day Kindergarten Program is for students who are turning 5 years old by October 1st. The children will be immersed in a developmentally appropriate, yet academically challenging, learning environment. It will also include writing, phonemic awareness, reading readiness, math, science and social studies using manipulatives, investigation, experimentation and creative expression. They will be instructed in phonics, phonemic awareness, reading, addition, subtraction, measuring, graphing, time telling, counting coins, the scientific approach, social studies and Spanish.
Our toddler classroom is colorful and cheery and filled with exploration. You may find us listening to silly songs, stories or talking about animals, shapes and colors. Perhaps you'll see the children participating in messy art, dancing, marching, singing ABC's and other songs and counting. Our toddlers are an active and "fun" age group! The children in our preschool class turn 2 years old by October 1st. In this classroom you may find us listening to a funny alpha tales story, or talking about the calendar and our current weather.
Our playground has over 10,000 square feet, offering your child four different play areas, separated by age. It is one of the largest playgrounds in the area. There is plenty of space for your child to run, play and explore.
The children in this class turn 3 years old by October 1st. Our Pre-Kindergarten class focuses on developing many skills such as social, work habits, hand and eye coordination, gross motor, reading readiness, math, speaking and listening, and self reliance skills. Every day we are learning new concepts and skills through hands on activities and play. We provide many games and activities which enhance pre-reading and pre-writing skills. For example: left to right progression, auditory and visual discrimination, receptive and expressive language, fine and gross motor skills, etc.
Apples and Books Learning Center offers back-up care for when public schools are closed: snow days, holidays, teacher conferences, spring and winter breaks and any other reason (excluding sick care). Children up to 5th grade are eligible. We also have a working relationship with both Bright Horizons Back-Up Care Advantage Program, as well as Lifecare Backup Care Connection. Please check with your employer to see if they participate. Back-up care availability is limited and based on a "first come, first serve basis".
Apples and Books Learning Center focuses on the development of the whole child - cognitively, emotionally, physically, socially and spiritually. We follow New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards and implement The Creative Curriculum, enabling children to participate in hands-on activities throughout the day. Through a multi-sensory approach, our children have access to a variety of learning styles. We maintain a daily schedule allowing us to keep peaceful, active, and well-structured classroom environments.
Each day we maintain a schedule that allows us to have a peaceful, active, and well-oriented classroom for all of our babies. We help infants regulate their activities gradually, while continuing to balance the infants' and groups' needs. We establish routines that are consistent and flexible. By being responsive to children's needs, we gently guide them into regular sleeping and eating habits. Younger babies have more naps and feedings. We incorporate fun, learning and art activities into our day.
