Infant Program: Developing secure and trusting relationships is a primary task for infants. Teachers foster this trust through frequent physical contact, sensitive responses to infants' signals (cries and smiles), and mutual delight in interactions. Infants are provided with visual and tactile stimulation and opportunities for gross motor activity. Infants at the Carrot Patch enjoy the wealth of snuggling, tummy time, and exploration that our 2:5 ratio encourages.
Toddler Program: Teachers create a balance of structured activities that allow children to learn new skills with plenty of free play that fosters creativity and individual expression. The curriculum is theme-based and includes daily experiences such as creative art, dramatic play, blocks, pre-math and science, puzzles and other manipulative materials, and fully incorporates literacy learning throughout. The toddlers make ample use of the Nature Center.
Preschool Program: The Carrot Patch Early Leaning Center provides an individualized program of school-readiness and enrichment for pre-schoolers aged 3 to 5 years of age. A carefully crafted inquiry-based curriculum centered around natural science, and designed to challenge each child to stretch and grow is carefully planned. Professional staff tailor the program to the individual needs of each child, ensuring that the particular challenges they encounter ultimately lead to success. This experience of positive outcomes rewarding their efforts enhances children's self-confidence and naturally promotes a joy for learning!

The Carrot Patch Program
We are proud to say that every one of our classroom teachers--Infants through Preschool--holds a Bachelors or Masters Degree, and many are credentialed public school teachers with early elementary-level experience. Our Staff Developer has over 40 years experience in all aspects of early childhood education and works closely with our teaching staff.
We offer an individualized, developmentally-appropriate curriculum featuring an inquiry-based approach. We use the place-based Bank Street educational model, focusing on the child's familiar environment as a base for their growing awareness and understanding of the larger world. We build on children's innate connection to nature as a way to integrate literacy, science, music and movement, arts, mathematics, social studies and social-emotional development in a balanced, holistic way.

We would like to thank you for the two years of wonderful care Daniel received while attending 'The Patch.' He learned so many new things, made friends and generally had a great time! We also appreciate the sensitivity with which you accommodated Daniel's special needs--he was kept completely safe yet always participated fully.
Thank you for providing the girls with such a warm inviting and loving place to learn and grow. We appreciate your commitment to hiring highly-qualified teachers and of course for the amazing Nature Classroom! After all they have been through, you have helped the girls maintain such an important stability in their lives. Thanks for making the Carrot Patch a place where we feel safe sending our kids!
Time flies! I still remember being in your brand new office pleading for a spot for my 3 month old baby! Thank you for partnering with us in the raising and education of our firstborn, and for educating us along the way--we learned a lot :) as did Celeste. You and your staff have always been professional and great and we would never have such an amazing daughter if it had not been for the wonderful high quality education, curriculum, experience and environment you have provided.
