From Our Website

Children of the King Academy is a non-profit, equal opportunity, non-discriminating Christian childcare and preschool organization in Long Branch, NJ. Beginning in 1995, Children of the King Academy has had a long-standing relationship with the Long Branch, NJ community. Former students are now bringing their children. Our purpose is to maximize the academic and personal potential of each child, to recognize and develop their individuality, and to instill Christian character and values. All our programs stress a workable atmosphere of courtesy, respect and cooperation with others, and work toward the goal of developing a child's natural love for learning.

The Pre-Kindergarten class is designed for children 4 and 5 years old and is more structured than Preschool. Reading and math readiness skills are emphasized with a formal learning session each day. Time is also provided for choice play, art, music, motor skills, self-help skills and social interaction. Our Pre-Kindergarten program features thoughtfully-designed activities that stimulate the mind and provide opportunities for hands-on play and socialization. Children are prepared, academically and socially, for a smooth transition into kindergarten and develop the confidence they need to excel at the next level of education.

Children of the King Academy uses the Creative Curriculum, a research-based curriculum aligned with Early Learning Preschool Guidelines. The best way to help children succeed is to guide them to be creative, confident thinkers. We offer children opportunities to engage in hands-on exploration and discovery that builds lifelong critical thinking skills and fosters confidence. The Creative Curriculum gives us the content and tools to encourage and support every type of learner and addresses all the important areas of learning.

This program is designed especially for the younger child, aged 3 to 4 years old. The curriculum emphasizes music, language arts, arts and crafts, and large and fine motor activities. Reading and math readiness is introduced according to the maturity level, ability and attention span of the children. The class is structured, but also flexible enough to allow for individual differences and social interaction among the children. Our Preschool Program is centered on how much God loves each child, and how He created each one in a special and unique way.

Our son had a wonderful experience at Children of the King. He often expresses how much he misses his teachers. We were very impressed with his education and the foundation of Christian values he received. Thanks to Children of the King, our son was well prepared for kindergarten and finished the year reading above grade level. We feel very satisfied and grateful that all three of our children have been able to attend Children of the King Academy. They all received a solid Christian foundation and introduction to learning, and they all left with optimism and confidence in their abilities - what parent could ask for more? - Rich and Debbie S.

Our 2-year old Nursery & Toddler Program consists of a wonderful day of learning, developing and exploring. We strive for a nurturing environment and encourage our children to increase their independence through creativity and exploration. Our day begins with independent morning play and crafts made daily in small groups. We have circle time which presents a wonderful opportunity for children to develop responsibility and learn through music and song. Children get daily exercise during outdoor playground time, indoor tumbling, music marching, and interactive songs.
