The Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend Region (ELC) is a private not-for-profit organization that provides services to families, children, and child care providers in the seven counties that comprise northern Florida's Big Bend Region: Gadsden, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Taylor, and Wakulla. The ELC works collaboratively with families, their children, and local child care providers to help prepare children for success in school and support families' ability to work. Through effective parent education and professional development for child care professionals, the ELC connects the home and school by sharing critical information and resources on child development and how to best support each child's individual growth.
Volunteers are one of the ELC's most precious community resources. If you want to support children, families, and child care providers in the Big Bend Region, the ELC is the perfect match for you. With a variety of volunteer opportunities available, the ELC is sure to have the right opportunity that matches your schedule.

The ELC has a strong network of community volunteers and partners providing support in helping families be ready to work and children ready to learn. Through targeted volunteer and resource development activities, volunteer groups extend the ELC's ability to effectively reach our families, children, and child care providers. Early Childhood issues and concerns should be our number one priority in the state of Florida. Our representatives need to hear from parents, providers, and community organizations.
Parents have the opportunity to positively impact their child's growth and development each and every day. Parenting a young child is not an easy task and cannot be done alone. The ELC serves as a "one-stop shop" for parents of young children by connecting them to the care they need for their child, providing parenting support and education, and connecting them to additional community resources and services as needed.
Much like a garden, children need constant love and attention to grow. Being a parent of a young child can be very challenging at times. The ELC provides support to parents and connects parents to local resources that maximize their role as their child's first teacher.
