From Our Website

Our program is designed to meet the demands of this challenging age group! School-age children need a safe, friendly, and flexible place to go to after school. Our Youth Center at KIDCO provides age appropriate space (over 8,000 square ft) and activities for kids who are no longer preschoolers. Kids are given opportunities to make choices as often as possible. Parents can count on reliable transportation to and from all Newington and most Wethersfield elementary schools as well as both Newington middle schools.

Our comprehensive, nationally accredited preschool program is designed using the Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards. It is also designed to meet the criteria set forth by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) including educational requirements for our teachers. Each day consists of large and small group interactions in the areas of science (S.T.E.A.M.), technology, engineering, mathematics, sensory, language and literacy, and dramatic play and the arts.

KIDCO Child Care Center of Newington, CT is a structured day camp providing a daily dose of teacher-directed activities, including cooperative games, arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor team sports and cooking. Each day includes time for free play and individual expression. Let your children make the most of their summer time. Your children will get a "kick" out of playing sports this summer, where they can play basketball, kickball, floor hockey, dodgeball, crab soccer and more. Our business hours are Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

We understand the demanding needs of our two-year-old. Our staff is dedicated to gently guiding them through their daily routines. We accept them for their inconsistent behavior by giving them manageable challenges. Teacher-child interactions will focus on talking, listening, and expanding your child's use of language. A one to four teacher/child ratio allows staff to assist them as they learn to feed, dress, and use the toilet themselves; building their confidence and self-esteem. Their day will consist of: small group story time, AM & PM snack, lunch, and nap time as well as music & creative movement, morning & afternoon play outdoors, independent exploration, simple hands on arts & crafts, sensory activities, and language development.

Your one year old is ready to experiment with his or her independence. He can now walk, talk, feed himself and go after what he wants. Your waddler needs lots of things to explore and will begin to follow a simply structured day in a fun, flexible environment. They will learn, grow and explore in a safe, age-appropriate setting until they reach the fun age of two and they're now ready to conquer the toddler world. Read our infant / waddler / toddler newsletter for your complete satisfaction.

The KIDCO nursery will provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for your infant. When your child begins at KIDCO, you and your baby's primary caregiver will establish a personal care plan. This will help us tailor a schedule to fit your baby's individual needs. Chosen for their nurturing personalities, our caregivers interact with your baby throughout the day as they feed, diaper, play, and comfort them. They will sing them songs, read them stories, encourage them to reach, grasp, crawl, and respond to vocalizations.
