From Our Website
From science to sports and arts to adventure, Krambrooke's Summer Camp provides weekly activities that foster learning, exploration and most of all fun! At Krambrooke we believe that a child can reach his or her full academic potential and truly gain a love of learning when they first achieve a love and understanding of themselves, other people, and the world around them. We strive to provide an environment that meets the needs of all children and promotes self-discovery and understanding along with educational needs.
This program is designed for children who are in the year before they will attend Kindergarten. Pre-Kindergarten sessions are currently held from 8:45 to 12:15 p.m., five days a week. Our program runs all year. Parents may send their child two to five days a week, depending on theirs and their child's needs. Our Pre-Kindergarten classes utilize the Core Knowledge Sequence of Education, blended with Montessori concepts, with subjects in reading, writing, math, science, social studies, social development, physical education, art, music, and drama, as well as sign language enrichment sessions.
A nurturing environment with developmentally appropriate learning experiences to foster your child's growth.
Whether your child is interested in building, crafts, cooking, reading, or exploring their entrepreneurial or dramatic inclinations, our Summer Camp team delivers the safe and caring environment for success!
Our consistent staff offers a strong bond between the care giver and child. Our qualified and nurturing teachers are specially trained to work with young children and are certified in CPR and First Aid. Our lead teachers, Ms. Alicia and Ms. Andrea prepare lesson plans to include all facets of early childhood development such as fine motor, gross motor, tactile, sensory stimulation and tummy time. Your infant will be introduced to language with stories, games, songs and conversations. In addition, we also introduce the Baby Signs Program, which has been helping babies "talk" before they can verbalize words for more than 25 years.
Krambrooke Children's Center began in the same way our children do, small and unsure of the future. In 1987, Ken and Kathy Kram started Sugar Bears Day Care, licensed by the State of Michigan as a "Family Home" facility with a maximum child capacity of six children. As Sugar Bears continued to grow in size and the demand for quality childcare increased, the Krams opened Krambrooke Children's Center in 1997. The facility had space for 185 children, and immediately filled up. Recognizing the demand for quality childcare and a strong preschool program, Krambrooke Children's Center became accredited by the Core Knowledge Foundation in 1999, and is now the only official Core Knowledge preschool in Macomb County.
