In 1971 a Child Care Task Force appointed by the Palo Alto City Council recommended that the City take an active and supportive role in the provision of child care and related services, and that a non-profit corporation be founded to implement and coordinate the Task Force's recommendations.

From Our Website

Since 1974, PACCC has pursued its nonprofit mission of providing care and education for Palo Alto's children. The agency was originally founded by city leaders to meet the need for high quality and affordable options rooted in the community. PACCC's roots in the community have grown even deeper over the years. We have more sites throughout the City of Palo Alto than any other agency. Our After School Kids' Clubs are located onsite at 11 of 12 elementary schools of Palo Alto Unified School District, and we value our close partnerships with school administrators.

We strive to develop consistent and mutually beneficial partnerships with volunteers from all areas of the community. By joining as a volunteer you are making the commitment to assist and support center staff through various activities and tasks. Our 19 child care centers benefit from your unique talents, expertise, wisdom, and love of play! Volunteers are required to receive a TB test and provide proof of influenza, pertussis and measles vaccinations. Acceptance of volunteers is contingent upon meeting the above requirements and the needs of the centers.

PACCC's preschool centers offer enriching and engaging care for children ages 2 until entry into kindergarten. We individualize a development path suited for each child - whether that involves a particular diapering/toilet training plan, a learning style that is especially physical, or a personality that can be shy around others. We value the unique needs of each child. By the time PACCC children leave our programs for kindergarten, they know that other children can become friends, teachers are caring, and learning is fun.
