From Our Website

The center extends our early childhood expertise to low-income, at-risk children and families who do not attend our center-based program. We provide child development information, support and encouragement to low-income, at-risk families in Scottdale who do not attend a Center-based child care program yet need help with their child's development during the crucial early years of life. Parents as Teachers (PAT) uses home visits to provide research-based child development training and parenting support.

This is a free, half day, early learning and family engagement program that seeks to provide a culturally and literacy-rich environment where families can be engaged in their children's early learning and school transition. The Clarkston READY School serves low-income children (Arabic speaking) ages 3 and 4 years old, and their families in an apartment complex located in Clarkston, Georgia. The goal is to ensure that children are healthy, safe, prepared for, and successful in school. Children learn self-help and socialization skills in a literacy-rich environment.

Scottdale's Board of Directors actively contributes and advocates for resources to support the organization. The mission of Scottdale Early Learning (SEL) is to provide early education that fosters the intellectual, creative, social, emotional, and physical development of our students. We mitigate socioeconomic disadvantages through high-quality education, family involvement, and community engagement, ensuring that all students we serve are ready for kindergarten. I am an Early Childhood Educator as well and have been Praying for a quality school in my neighborhood. This place has knocked it out the park.

Scottdale programs offer year round care, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am- 6:00 pm for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. Curriculum affects all aspects of a program: overall quality, parents' perceptions, and the outcomes and benefits of the program for individual children. Scottdale incorporates evidence-based practices and national standards from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the Creative curriculum. The Creative curriculum guides teachers as they work and care for children and adapt to the special needs and conditions of each group.
