Willow Path's founder Cristin Clarke discovered her love of childcare by chance. Her kids's Bright Horizons childcare center lost its lease unexpectedly in the spring of 2002. Forty-five families were faced with the prospect of finding alternative childcare services. Cristin was successful in rallying support for the founding of a new center, meeting the childcare requirements of thirty-six families.

From Our Website
Founded in 2003, Willow Path Childcare is an independent Boston-area childcare center serving kids from 5 weeks to 7 years of age, and is conveniently located near Centre Street at the West Roxbury / Jamaica Plain / Roslindale line. Our mission at Willow Path Childcare is to teach children to be caring compassionate, and to accept others' differences. We allow each child to develop at his or her own pace, promote independence, and strive to foster feelings of self confidence, success, and accomplishment while making positive contributions to the community which we serve.
The Willow Path Pre-K/Kindergarten classrooms provide each child with a safe and nurturing environment comprised of learning centers meant to encourage curiosity, exploration, and play. We recognize that children have different learning styles and learn at different rates. We believe that the work of a preschool child is his or her play. Play serves as a vehicle for learning. We strive to ensure that each child is given the opportunity to develop the foundation necessary for a lifetime of enjoyable learning.
We believe that our children should be introduced to community service and the concept of giving at an early age. We sponsor many charitable activities through out the year including St. Jude's Trike-A-Thon, Birthday Wishes, holiday food and toy drives to benefit the local community and Thanksgiving turkey drives. Trike-A-Thon is a fun, week-long safety curriculum and fundraising program that supports St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The program teaches children valuable riding-toy safety lessons, which they learn from educational materials provided by St. Jude.
Willow Path provides breakfast and a morning and afternoon snack each day free of charge. Children can bring their own lunch from home or purchase school lunch. The Real Deal Catering provides pizza on Wednesdays for families interested in participating in the school lunch program. Lunch costs $7.00 per day and is ordered at the beginning of every month. Willow Path is a designated peanut-free zone; please do not send your child to school with any products that contain peanuts.
Thank you for your interest in Willow Path Childcare. Unlike many other childcare centers, we offer convenient flexible full-time and part-time schedules; select the days and number of hours that you need. Willow Path is open year-round Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We invite you to visit Willow Path to take a tour of our facilities, observe the classrooms and meet with our staff. To schedule a tour, please call us at (617) 325-4300.
Mixed age groups in our Toddler program allow children to learn at their own pace while providing the younger children in the group with positive role models. The older children in the group are given the opportunity to feel successful and self confident because of their greater maturity and competence. We believe that the work of a child is his or her play and that play serves as a vehicle for learning. We offer both teacher-initiated and free-choice activities throughout the day to develop social, fine motor, gross motor, language, and thinking skills.
We also offer many enrichment programs at no additional cost to parents as well as a school meals program.
Our Infant program is designed as a partnership between caregiver and family. We work with parents to meet the individual needs of each infant. We provide a nurturing and loving environment for the infants in our care. We encourage parents to visit or call at any time during the day. Each infant's needs are met based on his or her unique schedule. We work closely with parents to make the transition to the infant room a comfortable and positive experience for both infant and parent. Caregivers interact with each infant on his or her level, offering smiles, encouragement, cuddling, rocking, singing, stories, and lots of love.
