Little Dudes Learning Center opened in 1962 when Mrs. Ellen Smith realized the need for childcare in South Austin. Although it was still primarily undeveloped, South Austin was growing. The IRS had just opened their new Austin facility. Following the opening of the 1st center on Sandra Street, an after school care and summer camp opened on Crow in 1972 and a Southeast location on Maufrais opened in 1980.
