Sonshine Kids is a Christian daycare serving kids from 6 weeks of age through 6 th grade. We have wonderful teachers on the Sonshine Kids' team. Our team consists of approximately 35 teachers and assistants. Each employee is required to suit both educational and general needs given through the Department of Children and Family Services and the State of Illinois.
Care-O-sel Child Care and Education sprang literally from a field of dreams. Janice Lowder wanted to build a space where kids could learn and discover through play. She purchased the land on the N edge of Virden in the1986. The center was built that Summer and opened it's doors on October 6, 1986. There were 12 students with 1 teacher and her help.
Due to the current budgetary uncertainty in our state, CCCC is making every effort to be conservative in our spending. We have been forced to suspend several services and/or provide the same services through a different means. CCCC is part of the Illinois Network of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies and is funded in part by the Illinois Department of Human Services.
