Mission Statement The Northshire Day School is a quality, licensed non-profit childcare and early education center, which serves area families by delivering a safe and loving environment for their kids. Vermont Achievement Center., a 501 c 3 charitable organization, has been serving kids and families throughout the Rutland region and Vermont since 1937. VAC continues to provide innovative and responsive programs in special education, child care, early education, family social services and intervention, water safety and therapy, and so much more.


The Child Care Center in Norwich provides the best quality early childhood programs to families of all incomes and backgrounds, where kids find laughter, warmth, and respect. Our experienced, caring, and committed teachers supply developmentally appropriate curriculum to foster childrens' self confidence, creativity, and social skills.



In 1970 a group of Middlebury residents decided that the community needed a safe supportive program for the kids of families who needed to work outside of the home. They wanted to make sure that kids, particularly the kids of struggling single mothers, were being well cared for.


We're licensed by the Vermont Agency of Human Services to supply care for a maximum of 18 kids at a time, and each year we serve about 40 Upper Valley families. We create a vital play-based setting in which our kids feel safe, challenged, and appreciated as individuals.


Our Board of Directors includes parents, human service specialists and community leaders from a huge array of businesses and professions. The Family Center of Washington County is a non-profit agency delivering a range of services to the families of Central Vermont.


CCR is the community-huge hub for everything relating to infant and toddler care, daycare, preschool and early learning. There are about 6,500 kids aged 3 months to 12 years attending some form of child care or after school program in Chittenden County. About 30% of these kids are from low to moderate-income families. Some have experienced abuse, neglect, or homelessness.


There are twelve child care resource and referral R&R agencies situated throughout Vermont's fourteen counties.
