A to Z Building Blocks is locally owned by Jody and Brian Zabriskie. Jody has a degree in early childhood education and has been working with kids for over sixteen years. She owned and taught preschool for four years before opening these two child care centers. She is backed by Brian who has a degree in Business Management with an emphasis in accounting.

In 1977, there was no place in Salt Lake City where kids who were at risk for abuse or neglect could receive short term crisis care. In response to this need, the Junior League of Salt Lake City and the Utah Association for Children's Therapy U-ACT provided funding, volunteers and Board of Directors representation and the Family Support Center was born.
